Es Tuguri – by the sea in Portixol

Es Tuguri, by the sea in Portixol. Our new project is small, but exquisite. And truly, really exquisite. Right in the middle of the bay of Portixol stands this little fisherman’s cottage, which we will completely renovate. On the ground floor, a quiet commercial unit will be created; the small penthouse duplex extends from the first to the second floor up to the roof terrace. And we have christened it “Es Tuguri”.

Es Tuguri is Mallorquin and means something like “the little hut”. But unlike the Italian, it is meant very affectionately. And Pilar had that thought when she breathed new life into this property—which, from the ground up, is already incredibly cozy—in a fantastic way.

We will preserve the old rustic elements such as ceiling beams, will try to keep some of the windows and convert them or recreate them to today’s state of the art, and subordinate the modern, pared-back lines to the “old”. It retains the typical Mediterranean, warm ambience. But in a way that will more than meet the highest contemporary standards. Next week we hope to have the final details set, then the tender for the construction companies will be prepared.

Unfortunately, you’ll have to be a little patient. We estimate that we’ll need about another year. So from summer 2023 it should be ready. And then you might be sitting on the roof terrace with a glass of wine. Watching the busy goings-on and feeling a little like the kings of Portixol 😉
