Es Tuguri, by the sea in Portixol. Our new project is small, but fine. And really really fine. Directly in the middle of the bay of Portixol stands this small fisherman's cottage, which we will completely renovate. The ground floor will be a quiet business, the small penthouse duplex will extend from the first to the second floor and up to the roof terrace. And we have christened it "Es Tuguri".
What does Es Tuguri mean?
Es Tuguri is Mallorcan and means something like "the little hut". But unlike the Italian, it is meant very lovingly. And that's what Pilar had in mind when she breathed new life into this object, which was already incredibly homely from the ground up, in a fantastic way.
We will preserve the old rustic elements such as ceiling beams, try to preserve some of the windows and rebuild or reconstruct them according to today's state of the art and subordinate the modern, reduced in lines, to the "old". It gives us the typical Mediterranean, warm ambience. But in a way that will more than meet the highest contemporary demands. Next week, we hope to have finalised the details, then the tender for the construction companies will be prepared.
When can I move in?
Unfortunately, you will have to be patient a little longer. We estimate that we need about another year. So it should be ready by summer 2023. And then you might sit on the roof terrace with a glass of wine. Watch the hustle and bustle and feel a little like the kings of Portixol 😉
