It's a bit like time has stood still. When you enter the grounds of Club Nautico Portixol, you find a few square meters of traditional Mallorca. It's as if time has stopped and all the current issues are suddenly very far away. Club Nautico Portixol restaurant is a hidden gem in the charming coastal town of Portixol, just outside Palma de Mallorca, Spain. Nestled in the marina, the restaurant offers stunning views of the Mediterranean and the yachts bobbing in the harbor.

When you enter the restaurant, you are immediately struck by the sophisticated yet welcoming atmosphere. The interior is decorated with nautical accents such as ropes and anchors, and the large windows offer a panoramic view of the water. Objectively, the ambience is rather plain. If not partially barren. On the other hand, it is a beautiful reflection of a good restaurant from its time. And there is definitely a certain beauty in the detail again. For example, some of the tables by the windows are decidedly inviting. And have beautiful views. And the wooden ceiling above the bar is actually spectacular as well. If it wasn't comparatively sparse and simple in between.

Let's put it this way: The ambience is a reason to come here curiously. Certainly not a reason to linger devoutly. How is the kitchen?

The cuisine is traditional marllorquin. Tapas, calamar Andalusian style, the usual suspects. All of a solid quality. Not to belabor the point: None of the dishes is a highlight, none would be a reason to necessarily go to the restaurant of Club Nautico Portixol. But neither do they provide a reason not to come here.

The menu of the Club Nautico Portixol restaurant is varied and offers dishes made with fresh, local ingredients. Especially popular are the seafood dishes, such as the grilled octopus and seafood paella. For those who prefer something more down-to-earth, the restaurant also offers a selection of meat and vegetarian dishes, including a delicious vegetarian lasagna with seasonal vegetables.

I found the paella good. Hearty, sloppy, tasty. Rather "housewife style". But really good! And if you conclude how cheap the soul dangle here is, then the price / performance ratio is definitely worth 5 stars!
