Es Vivers - An all-round great experience

Yesterday evening we discovered a little piece of Italy in a small charming fishing village on Mallorca. Just the drive to Colonia De Sant Pere was already a highlight. Coming from the highway from Arta, a small road winds along imposing mountains and with a breathtaking view of the northern bay of Mallorca, to Colonia De Sant Pere. Without expecting anything, we then discovered in this dreamy fishing village, this culinary pearl.

Born in Calabria, he moved to Germany with his family at the age of nine and learned the basics of Italian cuisine from his mother. At some point he was drawn to Mallorca, where he still uses his mother's cooking skills in the recipes at Es Vivers.

Constantly fresh ingredients and seasonal dishes

At Es Vivers, local, seasonally fresh products play the absolute leading role. Mario de Luca personally takes care of the selection of the most important ingredients for the preparation of his dishes. This means that here you can enjoy dishes prepared with local ingredients, gently processed and cut just before consumption to preserve the full flavor.

My absolute culinary highlight was the Saltimbocca

In addition to traditional, simple and original dishes, Es Vivers also offers a fantastic selection of fish and meat dishes. An absolute highlight is the delicious Saltimbocca, the tender veal cutlet with prosciutto and sage, which simply melts in your mouth.

Child friendly and humane prices

In addition, the staff is very child-friendly, as is so common among Italians. We have seen several children scampering between the waiters and waitresses, which were stroked by them with an affectionate gesture on the head and rather contributed to their amusement, than have disturbed. Furthermore, the prices for this view and the delicious cuisine are really very human. In the south of the island, you would definitely pay more for a restaurant with similar features for the same dishes.
