Santa Catalina - Es Jonquet

Orígenes: Palma's coffee nirvana

A morning at the Orígenes Café

A friend recently took me to Orígenes Café - a real insider tip that she really wanted to show me. A little treasure in Santa Catalina where the moment you enter you get that special "I want to stay here" feeling. Inside, you can expect a mixture of rustic charm and modern flair, the atmosphere is cozy and relaxed - as if the room is quietly whispering: "You deserve it."

The barista? A professional, of course. Greets me with a smile as if I were the regular of the year. His pride in the coffee literally drips from every pore, and while I wait for my flat white, I discover details that give the whole thing that "living room meets coffee culture" look.

Probably Palma's best coffee!

Then the moment of truth: the flat white arrives and - surprise - is even better than expected. Creamy, rich and without any bitter notes. One sip and I seriously wonder how I will ever be able to pass for normal coffee again. There it is, the answer to the question: why do people drink specialty coffee at all?

I enjoyed the rest of my time at Orígenes Café, taking in the relaxed atmosphere and observing the people who gathered here - a colorful mix of locals and travelers who all appreciated the quiet ambience. The place seemed to be made for immersing oneself - whether in thought, a good book or concentrated work. The subtle background music and warm lighting provided just the right backdrop to switch off and be productive without time noticeably slipping away.

The star on the plate: Revuelto El Loco

And while the atmosphere invites you to linger, the cuisine ensures that the palate gets its money's worth too. The star on the plate: Revuelto El Loco.

Revuelto El Loco

Creamy scrambled eggs, perfectly ripe avocado (no brown surprises here!), served with cream cheese and confit cherry tomatoes. Served alongside crusty sourdough bread and so perfect it's almost cheeky - the breakfast made me realize: this is officially my new breakfast spot. Every bite is perfect - the breakfast could easily pass for a Sunday brunch.

The acai bowl: a refreshing classic

Because I couldn't resist, the acai bowl also landed in front of me. Cool, creamy and surprisingly natural in taste. The highlight? The homemade granola with nuts and a hint of honey - crunchy and just right. Top it with fresh fruit and you have the perfect start to the day.

As I leave the Orígenes Café, I know that this was more than just breakfast. It was an experience that burns itself into my memory and raises my bar for coffee and breakfast.
