The stylishly furnished guest room in the middle of Palma's old town district of La Lonja is just a few steps from the boulevard Borne and the Paseo Maritimo. The atmosphere is cozy - rustic with a touch of modernity. Successful!

I tried the "Coliflor a la brasa, endivias, harissa y yogur" (Grilled cauliflower, endives, harissa and yogurt) from the KOA restaurant menu. I thought the idea was extremely good, the freshness of the yogurt with the smoky flavor of the grilled cauliflower, plus the spiciness of the endives. The execution, unfortunately, was a bit half-baked. The yogurt seemed more like a pre-made mayonnaise that was uninspired garnished over the grilled but slightly dry cauliflower. All in the "good" range, but I think more is possible here.

And I find the "more" with my second course in the restaurant KOA: The "Bruschetta de steak tartar picante" comes briskly behind and is a poem. Classically garnished with a quail egg. Or maybe it's a pigeon egg? I'm not sure ... Regardless, the bread is great toasted, on top the tartare perfect for me by the degree of spiciness. Delicious. You feel the fruity of the spiciness just before it becomes dominant on the palate, that's just how I like it.

The best wife of all had the solomillo, which is the beef tenderloin. This was also excellent. Roasted to the point. Great quality, a really nice slightly nutty flavor of its own. No bitter flavors, no fat heated too hot. Here the kitchen is obviously in its element!

The service was nice. I did not quite understand why and where so many employees were on the way, because in the fully occupied restaurant but some impatience set in the guests with the will to leave, because the waiters seemed very busy and the bills came rather delayed. However, this may also have been a subjective impression, because we were short on time due to too tight scheduling. We wanted to look at the "switching on" of the Christmas lights in Palma at the Placa Reina. And were then suddenly in a hurry. For a cozy evening, which anyway fits better to the restaurant KOA, but irrelevant.

The KOA restaurant is simply a beautiful place, we will be back! It's not cheap, but with its great location, beautiful interior design and mostly very good food, the price / performance ratio is fair in any case!
