A few days ago we visited Uco Bakery, a 100% sourdough bakery in Palma de Mallorca that we read a lot about on social media. They are specialists in sourdough.

The Uco Bakery begins with a love story between Gus and Caterina. Caterina was gluten intolerant and liked to eat sourdough bread in Rio de Janeiro, but when they moved to Argentina, there was no bakery that offered sourdough bread. At that moment, Gus learned from the best bakers to bake sourdough bread for Caterina.

What fascinates me about Uco is not only their irresistible bread, but also the honest and colourful way they have connected with customers like me who care about consuming premium local produce.

100% sourdough bread for gluten-intolerant people

Uco Bakery specialises in natural and sourdough fermentation because it believes in a healthier and more respectful way of eating.

They use only local ingredients to produce a spectacular variety of breads that are fermented for 30 hours.

When the bread is ready, its shapes, reliefs and colours are reminiscent of a masterpiece. Even if it is only a sourdough bread, it is a piece that tastes good and looks good on the breakfast table.

A space for art in the middle of Palma

Gus and Cate's passion has given Uco Bakery its own character and made it a place where craftsmen and artists meet to exhibit their paintings and products.

When you visit this bakery, you can't help but get hungry as the smell of their breads catches you. But what makes this place even more inviting is the beauty of the interior. 

A multitude of curves envelop every detail, reflecting the imperfection of the artisanal process of their breads.

I will definitely come back. And if you like bread or design, you should try it!
