This WIP05 is about details, tiles & stones. How to make something good even better. And we are "back on earth". Or rather on the ground, which in this project consists of tiles and stones

Magi Marques, our architect on this project, didn't quite agree with the way the beautiful rounded edges of the really classy Ezarri glass mosaics were applied. Then jumped into the pool and explained how to do it better. Good eye and attention to detail! The Ezarri tiles were a bit of a drama beforehand. Our project manager had rejected these beautiful pieces, which Aina Company (Interior Design) and I had chosen, for price reasons. But we finally prevailed ;).

The walls between the houses are growing. We can't close them yet, of course, otherwise we won't be able to get to the houses ... Finished in white hand-painted roughcast, they will be a highlight. At night they will be illuminated from below with the light points embedded in the floor. The back wall will be a masterpiece of solid natural stone in the Mallorcan style. Namely without plaster. The stones are "simply" put together. A difficult job that only a few locals still know how to do. Mostly you only see dummies, there are thin facing elements that are often used. Cheap and quick to build. But we want the original.

Behind the flutter tape is the screed with the loops of the underfloor heating already installed. On top of that comes the floor covering, which the colleague with the wheel bearing brings from the truck to the houses pallet by pallet.

In search of the right natural stone, the right surface and the most perfect shade possible, we then spent a little time on the road. Here on the left picture you can see José Manuel González Ferreiro from the construction company IslaBau, Tomeu Salom, our aparejador ("technical architect") and again Magi, our architect in this project.

So, it's going. We are right on schedule. The construction site is full of hard workers and IslaBau is doing a really good job!

Until next time, your Arnd
