Pollença

Pollença is located in the north of Mallorca on the edge of the Serra de Tramuntana. The historic town forms the cultural center of a sprawling municipality that also includes Port de Pollença, Cala Sant Vicenç, and the Formentor peninsula. This means the area encompasses mountain landscapes, fertile plains, sheltered coves, and open coastline.

In the center of Pollença, small natural-stone houses, narrow streets, and small squares shape the scene. Around the Plaça Major, cafés, restaurants, galleries, and the weekly market are concentrated. The Calvary steps, churches, and monasteries speak to the town’s long history, without Pollença having lost its year-round everyday life.

Outside the town begins a quiet cultivated landscape of fields, olive trees, and fincas. Toward the coast, the Bay of Pollença opens up with Port de Pollença, its promenade, the harbor, and long stretches of beach. Cala Sant Vicenç lies between steep rocks and small coves; Formentor shows the more dramatic, largely undeveloped side of the northern Tramuntana.

The different districts have their own rhythm. The town of Pollença is historic and urban on a small scale, the port is maritime and comfortable, and the rural surroundings are secluded. In season, activity increases noticeably, but many shops, schools, and services operate year-round.

Property ranges from townhouses in need of renovation to modern apartments at the port, as well as fincas and villas with large plots. With rural properties, access, water supply, and planning-law conditions are particularly important; in the center, daylight, outdoor space, and parking options matter. Pollença’s strength lies in this diversity—and in the proximity of mountains, town, and sea.
