Port d’Andratx

Port d’Andratx is a natural harbour in the southwest of Mallorca where fishing, a marina, and high-end residential living meet directly. The surrounding slopes and coves offer spectacular views, while the town itself remains lively and established year-round.

Port d’Andratx lies in a deeply indented natural bay at the far southwest of Mallorca. The town developed from a fishing harbour and to this day is not a purely yachting marina: fishing boats, shipyards, and the fish market (Lonja) are as much part of the picture as sailing and motor yachts.

Along the waterfront promenade you will find restaurants, cafés, small shops, and services. The town centre remains compact and is easy to explore on foot. At the same time, the residential areas rise noticeably on both sides of the bay. La Mola, Cala Moragues, and the slopes above the harbour offer wide views over the water, the mountains, and the offshore island of Sa Dragonera.

Nearby are distinctive stretches of coastline such as Cala Llamp and Cala d’Egos. The Serra de Tramuntana begins immediately behind Andratx and gives the landscape a striking rocky backdrop. Palma is easily reached via the southwest route; nevertheless, Port d’Andratx conveys a clear distance from the city and its own daily rhythm.

Topography is decisive for residential quality. Elevated positions offer views and privacy, but can also mean steep access roads and a greater dependence on the car. Right by the harbour, distances are shorter and life is more urban, but it is livelier in season. Sun orientation and wind protection differ considerably depending on which side of the bay you are on.

The property offering ranges from apartments in the town centre to spacious villas on the hillsides. Sea views, terraces, and good accessibility determine the value of many properties. Because developable land is limited, high-quality renovations and replacement new builds play a major role. A careful review of access, orientation, and legal status is essential, especially for hillside plots.
