Help in Pollença – Cooperation with R3spira

Help in Pollença. Since June of this year, Predator has been helping in Pollença. In cooperation with the widely known restaurant R3SPIRA, which is run by Nicola Celentano, a native Italian and truly fabulous chef!

Cooperation with R3SPIRA. The R3SPIRA, which, by the way, when I wrote the blog article, was ranked number 1 among the best restaurants in Pollença on TripAdvisor, prepares a complete menu for pickup every Tuesday for the needy families of the idyllic town. In the morning, when Nico and his wife Lorena would actually have their day off, they hand out the meals. Of course, the shopping and preparation take place beforehand. Nico and Lorena volunteer in their free time and make their kitchen available; Predator SL covers the cost of the food.

We received help immediately from the team at Pollença Town Hall. The social worker Maria Cerda and her colleagues Maria Amgenual and David Llorens were spontaneously ready to meet in order to find a joint concept for this form of assistance. We then agreed that the Town Hall would issue vouchers to needy families, which they can redeem with us. The families come with their own reusable containers. And they are handed the menu according to the number of family members.

At the beginning, when the Corona measures were still hitting the island the hardest, Nico cooked weekly for 150 families, i.e. about 300–400 portions. After tourism picked up again, this was reduced to 50–100 families per week.

For R3SPIRA just as much as for us at Predator, this project is close to our hearts. We feel very connected to Pollença and therefore do not see this initiative as a short-term stopgap, but as long-term support for those among us who are not doing so well. In future, the support is to be taken over by our foundation.
