Winter on Mallorca - the sun shines anyway ...
When the sun shines in winter, the difference between the 18 degrees in the shade and the temperature in the sun is surprisingly large. At lunchtime, if it's not windy, you can eat in a T-shirt. Hard to imagine just before Christmas, isn't it? Take a look at the average temperatures on this weather page, they are always relaxed and above all: little precipitation and lots of sun.
Sure, when the sun shines, it simply has a higher intensity than in Central Europe. You quickly take off the layer you've thrown on. There are also those weeks when it rains a lot. And there are the storms in winter on Mallorca, which are among my most celebrated events.
By the way, Frédéric Chopin and George Sand had a really bad winter on the island in 1838/39. This is somehow all presented quite differently today, but is actually quite an entertaining historical "error", which you can read here.
