And we'll tell you which Christmas market in Mallorca you shouldn't miss. And which one you can probably do without!

If you are wondering about the sometimes unusual times for Germany, this is because the more important holiday in Spain is not until January 6th. With the "Reyes Magos", the entry of the three kings is celebrated everywhere with large and magnificent parades. And then there are presents for the little ones. Puerto Portals
The Christmas market in Puerto Portals will begin on December 14 and you can make your own impression until January 6. Over forty wooden stalls, decorated with fairy lights and Christmas trees, offer a diverse selection of high-quality products to fill the Christmas season with joy: Decorations, accessories, wooden toys and much more. There will also be a wide range of food and drink on offer. The market is one of the most popular Christmas markets in the region and has a comprehensive program of activities for the whole family, with the ice skating rink being an absolute highlight not to be missed!

Palma
There are numerous fascinating attractions to discover on the Plaza Mayor and in the main streets. Here you have the opportunity to buy Christmas decorations and gifts. We particularly recommend visiting the impressive nativity scene exhibitions that can be found throughout the city, such as the one in the town hall in Plaza Cort. In the city center, you will also find Christmas stalls on Rambla and near Plaza España. There are churros (traditional Spanish shortbread, very tasty!), handicrafts and lots of festive Christmas decorations!

The Rambla is really beautiful when there is a Christmas market. The little stalls are, shall we say, rather pragmatic and simple (let's just call them containers) but the illuminated avenue with all the people strolling along under the plane trees in a Christmas atmosphere is simply beautiful. And just before the end there is a great waffle stand, don't miss it!
Borne
Basically not a Christmas market Mallorca, but simply opulent and beautifully decorated for Christmas. And the cafés have these not very environmentally friendly but very pleasant gas fires, so on warm days you can even sit outside and enjoy either a pre-Christmas chocolate or a delicious cocktail.
Pueblo Español
Every December, the Pueblo Español hosts a charming Christmas market in Mallorca. This architectural treasure in Palma is home to replicas of Spain's most famous buildings, making its streets and squares a unique backdrop for this special event. And the absolute highlight: it snows! Every day at 18:00, the snow cannons are fired up and it's a wonderful experience, and not just for children. You can find a video from last year here:
The "Christmas Market" is open this year from December 1 to 17, daily from 12:00 to 23:00. Admission costs around €10 for adults and €2 for children. Children up to 6 years have free admission.
The Pueblo Español is located less than 1 km from the bay of Palma and is easily accessible by car, offers free parking (which is often full during the Christmas market season) and is well connected to public transportation (which is our recommendation).
Santa Ponsa
Santa Ponça once again has a Christmas market in Mallorca. The Mercadillo de Navidad takes place on the El Molí de Calviá fairground near the highway exit and is open from November 25 to December 17. The large LEGO tent and various activities involving crafting and decorating Christmas trees as well as a flea market are particularly exciting for children. The Christmas decorations and outdoor lighting come from England and the live music is provided by a German band. The Christmas market is open Monday to Friday from 5pm to 10pm and on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays from 10am to 10pm.
Port Adriano
From December 22nd, the Starck Marina will be celebrating its second Street Christmas Festival, an event with a wide selection of gourmet food trucks and a Christmas bazaar for your shopping. Of course, Santa Claus himself will also be present at this Christmas market in Mallorca to collect the children's wish lists in the middle of a huge and spectacular 4 meter high Christmas ball. This magical atmosphere will enchant children and adults alike and we are sure to see lots of pictures of this big Christmas dream on social media.
For the little ones, there are activities such as creative face painting, musical activities, lots of games and a large bouncy castle. A festive atmosphere in which everyone can enjoy the Christmas season. Take a look around! Son Amar
From December 1 to 22 - always from Thursday to Sunday - the House of Son Amar becomes a Christmas theme park. And that's exactly how you should imagine it. Immerse yourself in the (somewhat American-style) Christmas atmosphere and enjoy a varied program of activities with a traditional arts and crafts market. There is plenty of entertainment for young and old, including a large ice skating rink, daily performances of "It's Christmas" with the artists from the shows "Exhibit II" and "Ohalá", a visit to Santa Claus' cave and, of course, plenty to eat and drink!
There is also the Heineken beer garden, a wide selection of food and drinks at the Reino de Alcázar restaurant and daily firework displays that will make your Christmas 2023 at this Christmas market Mallorca extra special. Let the magic begin!
Santuari de Lluc
This Mallorca Christmas market takes place in one of the most picturesque regions of Mallorca, on a high plateau surrounded by the highest mountains of the Serra de Tramuntana, right next to the Santuari de Lluc, perhaps the most important historical monastery on the island. It takes place over two days in December (on December 9 and 10) in the Plaça dels Pelegrins (Pilgrims' Square), which is festively lit up and full of Christmas spirit. The forty or so stalls offer a wide range of products associated with this festive season, including decorative items, culinary delights, textiles, ecological products and an impressive variety of handmade items.
And with a lot of luck, you have the best chance on the island of getting a bit of snow here. After all, the monastery is one of the highest places on the island at over 1000 meters above sea level.
Alaró
Also on December 9 and 10, we recommend a visit to the charming village of Alaró, where a magical Christmas market Mallorca takes place in the picturesque main square. This market, located at the foot of the Serra de Tramuntana, offers over 60 stalls with handmade crafts, designer creations, antiques, toys and works of art. Enjoy tasty snacks from the food trucks and treat yourself to a chupito or a hot café drink in the local bars. Live music and activities for children round off this Christmas market Mallorca.
