Today I visited the Molinar Townhouses construction site. Neither have I been involved in a construction site before. Nor did I think that it could ever come to that. In fact, for me the whole thing was just an area that somehow works or should work and my contribution is limited to living in the finished product.

My first builder - Helm and Molinar Townhouses

But a month ago I started at PREDATOR SL . And I quickly realized that if I'm going to work with Arnd in marketing, the moment will come to put on a construction worker - helmet and visit a construction site.

And indeed, I was looking forward to it. To really understand how a company works, you have to know its heart. And what makes it beat. And then you go on through the rest of the organism that makes it up. Down to every person and every detail. When I arrived at Predator, I first wanted to understand the characteristics that best define this company.

"Quality" and "Location

The words I heard most often were "quality" and "location". And I can assure you that after this site visit, these two values added even more to my understanding of this company.

I have always been an avid follower of architecture and interior design companies and channels. I have always tried to imagine what it would be like to live in such an aesthetically pleasing home that appeals to me so much visually, so much to my taste.

In this post I won't write about technical details, I can't do that well enough, I want to tell you my impressions from the point of view of a normal consumer.

Santas for the engineers

Molinar Townhouse Project Management
Molinar Townhouse Project - Manager with Father Christmas

I introduced myself to the site management of the Molinar Townhouse project with a chocolate Father Christmas. And that worked quite well, they contentedly ignored me and I could eavesdrop and walk along undisturbed. And already the conversation started about the wardrobes made of real walnut wood.

So while we were climbing over raw blocks and cables, I became more and more aware of how many small details have to be taken care of to build such houses. We residents are not aware of that at all.

So while I was listening to the technicians, I felt a bit out of place, but I quickly realised one thing: it's not enough to do things well. You always have to be behind, always try to find the best result and you have to try to anticipate what possible problems might come out of it.

Is experience the be-all and end-all?

I also quickly understood that experience is an important aspect. Best: a lot of experience. Only mistakes improve your future results, as it is always the case in life. But this experience makes a big difference between a well-built house or a house where the problems are already waiting under the beautiful surface for its future inhabitants.

In this project we are working with Islabau. And as in every construction site, there are always conflicts of interest and disputes. But what I have noticed is that here, experts work with experts. And they exchange ideas on technical aspects in order to find the best solution. Because they basically trust each other.

.

Molinar Townhouse, probably the best new building project in Portixol

The Molinar Townhouse We started the project in summer 2020 and plan to complete it in March 2022, after which we will need about three months for the furniture and the official inspections and certificates. In addition, the kitchens have to be installed, which have an insanely high value for us because it is simply the centre of a home for our generation.

I was able to see in detail what my company means by "quality" in this project. I was fascinated by the way the pools are built. Gently rounded edges made of Ezarri glass mosaic stones. And in different colours, too, so that the houses have a personal hardship. But more on that in a later post. Then, in the centre of the "stage" of this architectural production, natural stone. Yes, for me the wall behind the pool is a masterpiece. Solid, massive natural stone in the purest Mallorcan style. And it is a true art how these natural stones become a wall, which only a few local masters still master.

What is particularly important to me in a house is natural light. And with that, ideally large and preferably well-insulated windows. Today I was able to admire the sliding windows that have just been installed on the ground floor of Technal, And was pleased to look out of the house at the beautiful natural stone wall outside, which takes up the entire field of view from the window. Once the pools are cleaned and filled, it will be a dreamy area that will need nothing but a few pieces of furniture. And when it gets dark and the pool is lit up, the light reflections will show up on the patio walls with the movement of the water. Beautiful! I am excited!

These 125 m2 houses will even have a KNX bus system. It will control the air conditioners and the underfloor heating, which will be supplied by a Daikin inverter system. The engineers told me that these are not only the most innovative but also the most expensive systems on the market.

I'm super excited to visit again in a few weeks to see how the work has progressed and show you more details!

Best regards from Portixol!
